Authorities announce nine-hour traffic suspension to facilitate the event on October 4

Traffic movement along the route of the Wullar Ultra Marathon 3.0 will be suspended for nine hours on Sunday, October 4, as authorities implement a traffic advisory to accommodate the event. According to the Traffic Police Rural Kashmir, the marathon will commence at the BSF Headquarters in Maddar, Bandipora, and will proceed toward NHPC Pethkotha before returning through Chewa, Kangrichowk, and the Wular Vintage Road.

Motorists are advised to avoid the affected roadways during this period and to use designated alternate routes. The traffic suspension will be in effect from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m., ensuring that participants can safely navigate the marathon route without interference from regular vehicular movement.

The Traffic Police have outlined specific diversions to facilitate vehicle movement during the event. Traffic heading toward Srinagar from Gurez, Bandipora town, and the Bandipora bus stand will be redirected via the Bandipora-Sopore road. This same route will also accommodate vehicles traveling in the opposite direction. For those traveling from Srinagar to Bandipora and Gurez, the recommended route includes Narbal, Pattan, and Sopore before arriving in Bandipora. Similarly, traffic from Ganderbal heading to Bandipora will be diverted through Sumbal, Naidkhai, and Sopore, with these routes applicable for return journeys as well.
