TUCSON, Ariz. — Investigators are intensifying their search for the masked man seen in doorbell camera footage related to the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, as the case enters its 74th day. The 84-year-old mother and grandmother vanished from her home in the Catalina Foothills over two months ago, prompting a thorough investigation by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD).

Detectives are focused on identifying a man captured on video at Guthrie's residence, who was seen wearing a ski mask and gloves, appearing to carry a gun, and sporting an Ozark Trail hiker pack. The PCSD has urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or information that could assist in the investigation.

Recently, Sheriff Chris Nanos addressed the community during a homeowners' association meeting in Guthrie's neighborhood, where he reassured residents that patrols have been increased due to recent complaints of harassment from a YouTuber targeting local families. "We want to make sure that everyone feels safe in their community," Sheriff Nanos said.

As the investigation continues, the focus remains on processing a large amount of DNA evidence. Nanos indicated that the team, in collaboration with the FBI, is awaiting key lab results that could help clarify the mixed DNA samples collected. "Advances in science could soon help break apart mixed DNA samples, making it possible to identify multiple contributors," he noted.

In the meantime, the Guthrie family is urging the Tucson community to recall any unusual events or sightings on January 11, January 31, and February 1, which may provide new leads. The family has also taken an active role in seeking information, offering a $1 million reward for credible tips. The FBI is contributing a $100,000 reward, and 88-CRIME has added $102,500, bringing the total to a substantial sum aimed at encouraging public involvement.

The public is reminded to avoid sending money to anyone claiming to raise funds related to the case, as such scams have been reported. Tips can be submitted anonymously through the 88-CRIME hotline, the 88crime.org website, or the P3 Tips mobile app. Anyone with information about Nancy Guthrie's disappearance is encouraged to contact 1-800-CALL-FBI or 88-CRIME.

Meanwhile, as the investigation evolves, public scrutiny has also turned to Annie Guthrie, Nancy's daughter, who has faced speculation about her potential involvement in her mother’s disappearance. On February 16, police cleared Annie of any wrongdoing, stating that not one single person in the family is a suspect. Nevertheless, public opinion remains divided, with some questioning her motives.

Jennifer Coffindaffer, a former FBI agent, has come to Annie's defense, asserting that she is a hardworking individual with no financial issues. "This is a woman who works hard. No signs of money problems," Coffindaffer stated, countering rumors that Annie and her husband, Tommaso Cioni, may have orchestrated the incident for financial gain. "They do just fine. They’re not in any money problems. They have one child. They have a beautiful life from all accounts," she added.

In the initial stages of the investigation, Annie's car was taken into custody because Nancy had ridden in it prior to her disappearance. Tommaso was also briefly considered a prime suspect but was cleared by officials. Coffindaffer emphasized that both Annie and Tommaso have been cooperative with law enforcement throughout the investigation.

Amid the turmoil, Annie has appeared alongside her sister Savannah in various social media videos, pleading for the public's help in locating their mother. The sisters, along with Tommaso, were seen visiting a memorial for Nancy just a month after her disappearance, demonstrating their commitment to finding her.

As the investigation continues, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department is urging residents to submit any relevant video footage that might aid in the case. The community's involvement is seen as a key element in piecing together the timeline and circumstances surrounding Nancy's disappearance.

With no arrests made and the investigation still open, the urgency to find Nancy Guthrie remains high. The family and investigators are hopeful that the combined efforts of law enforcement and the community will lead to a breakthrough in the case. As the days pass, the hope of finding Nancy safe continues to drive the search.

As Nancy's family and the authorities work tirelessly to locate her, the community is reminded to remain vigilant and supportive. The investigation is not just about finding a missing person; it’s about restoring peace to a family and a community shaken by uncertainty.

With the combined resources of local law enforcement and the FBI, investigators are committed to solving this case, and they are hopeful that the public will rise to the occasion to assist in bringing Nancy Guthrie home.
