Scottish Premiership Unveils Thrilling Post-Split Fixtures

The Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) has officially unveiled the post-split fixture list for the William Hill Premiership, setting the stage for a dramatic climax to the season. As the league heads into its final stretch, Heart of Midlothian, Rangers, Celtic, Motherwell, and Hibernian have secured their spots in the top six, with Falkirk also earning a place in the top half after a hard-fought 3-2 victory against Motherwell.

Currently leading the pack is Heart of Midlothian, sitting one point clear of Rangers and three points ahead of reigning champions Celtic. This marks a historic opportunity for Hearts, who are chasing their first top-flight title since the 1959/60 season.

The opening matches of the post-split fixtures will take place over the weekend of April 25 and 26. Notably, Sky Sports will broadcast a highly anticipated Edinburgh derby on April 26, where Hibernian will host leaders Heart of Midlothian at Easter Road, kick-off at 4:30 PM. This match follows the broadcast of Celtic versus Falkirk on April 25 at 5:30 PM.

In addition to the Edinburgh derby, the following weekend features another double-header on Sky Sports. Hibernian will welcome Celtic on May 3 for a noon kick-off, and on the public holiday of May 4, Heart of Midlothian will face Rangers at Tynecastle, with a kick-off scheduled for 5:30 PM.

The fixtures continue to excite as Sky Sports will also showcase the meeting of Motherwell and Hearts on May 9 at 8:00 PM. The final Old Firm derby of the season, a fixture that always carries immense significance, will take place on May 10 at Celtic Park, kicking off at noon.

As the season approaches its final weeks, the SPFL has confirmed that all three top-six fixtures on May 13 will be played simultaneously, with kick-off set for 8:00 PM. These matches include Heart of Midlothian against Falkirk, Motherwell versus Celtic, and Rangers facing Hibernian. Meanwhile, the bottom-six fixtures will occur the night before, on May 12, starting at 7:45 PM.

The season will conclude on May 16, with Celtic hosting Hearts, Rangers visiting Falkirk, and Hibernian playing Motherwell, all kicking off at 12:30 PM. Premier Sports will also air three matches from the bottom six, including the Dundee derby on April 26 at 2:00 PM, Livingston versus Aberdeen on May 1 at 7:45 PM, and Livingston against Kilmarnock on the final day of the season, May 17, with a 2:00 PM kick-off.

Calum Beattie, SPFL Chief Operating Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming fixtures, stating, “Following the weekend’s results, we are delighted to publish the post-split fixtures and the majority of broadcast selections to allow clubs and supporters to make plans for what a fantastic few weeks of football with so much at stake across the William Hill Premiership.” He praised the season as one filled with excitement, saying, “This has been a season like no other, with so many talking points and unrivalled drama.”
