In a strategic move to strengthen their lineup, Heungkuk Life Pink Spiders announced on April 16, 2026, the signing of national team middle blocker Jeong Ho-young, a highly sought-after free agent. The contract spans three years and is valued at 540 million won, which includes an annual salary of 420 million won and performance-related bonuses amounting to 120 million won.

Jeong Ho-young, who was the first pick in the first round of the 2019-2020 V-League rookie draft, has established himself as one of the top middle blockers in the league, known for his impressive vertical leap and reliable blocking skills. Since joining KGC Ginseng Corporation (now known as Jeonggwanjang), he has consistently demonstrated his competitive edge, also earning a spot on the national team where he has gained valuable international experience.

The addition of Jeong Ho-young is expected to significantly bolster Heungkuk Life's central power, allowing the team to develop a formidable combination alongside existing player Lee Da-hyun. With this new acquisition, the Pink Spiders aim to create a well-rounded middle blocking unit that combines height and agility, enhancing their tactical options for the upcoming season.

Expressing his excitement about joining the team, Jeong stated, “I am thrilled and excited to join Heungkuk Life. I hope to adapt quickly to this new environment and contribute to the team, providing fans with even more exciting performances.”

Head coach Yoshihara also shared his enthusiasm for the signing, noting, “Jeong Ho-young possesses height, speed, and excellent blocking timing. His presence will stabilize our central defense and increase the tempo of our offensive plays.” This sentiment reflects the team’s aspirations to improve their competitive standing in the league.

A representative from Heungkuk Life emphasized Jeong’s proven track record, saying, “He is a resource that will contribute to our team’s cohesion and performance. We are committed to supporting him as we strive to deliver a more solid performance to our fans in the new season.”

The Pink Spiders are gearing up for what they hope will be a successful season, and the addition of Jeong Ho-young is a clear indication of their ambition to compete at the highest level in the V-League. With a solid roster now in place, fans can look forward to an exciting season ahead, as the team aims to capitalize on their strengthened lineup.

As the new season approaches, the integration of Jeong Ho-young into the squad will be closely watched, with expectations high for his impact on the team's performance. The V-League is set to commence soon, and with the Pink Spiders’ new signing, the competition fierce.
