Billy Crystal, the Tony and Emmy Award-winning actor and comedian, is set to return to Broadway this fall with his new autobiographical solo show, 860. This production, which is named after the address of his longtime Los Angeles home that was destroyed in the devastating 2025 Palisades fires, will begin previews in October 2026 at a Shubert theater yet to be announced. The show will run for a strictly limited engagement of 12 weeks.

In a heartfelt statement, Crystal expressed his excitement about the project: “I am thrilled to return to Broadway this fall with this challenging new show. 860 was the address of the home we lost in the Palisades fires. We lived there for 46 years. I invite you to come inside 860 and I’ll tell you all the funny and touching things that happened there, not only in my career but to our family. It’s a joyous and heartfelt visit, about how with the love of family and friends and your inner strength, you can get through tough times. I look forward to returning to Broadway and welcoming audiences to 860.”

The production will be directed by Scott Ellis, an Olivier Award winner known for his extensive work on Broadway, including recent productions such as Fallen Angels. Ellis has a reputation for bringing out the best in performers, making him a fitting choice for Crystal’s intimate storytelling style.

Crystal’s connection to his family home is deeply personal. The Palisades and Eaton fires erupted on January 7, 2025, resulting in the loss of 31 lives and the destruction of approximately 13,000 homes and other properties. In the aftermath, Crystal participated as the first host of the FireAid fundraising concert, wearing the same clothes he had on when he fled his home. This traumatic experience has become a source of inspiration for his new show.

“I had not cried like that since I was 15 and I was told that my father had just died,” Crystal recalled, describing the moment he returned to the remnants of his home. His daughters discovered a rock in the debris with the word “Laughter” engraved on it, a poignant reminder of the joy that once filled their home.

Crystal's return to Broadway is highly anticipated, especially following his successful run in the 2022 musical adaptation of his film Mr. Saturday Night, which earned him five Tony nominations. His Broadway debut came in 2004 with the one-man show 700 Sundays, which won him a Tony Award and has since become a celebrated part of his career.

Known for his roles in iconic films such as When Harry Met Sally..., The Princess Bride, and the Monsters, Inc. franchise, Crystal has also made a name for himself as a former cast member of Saturday Night Live and as a nine-time host of the Academy Awards. His career has been marked by a blend of comedy and heartfelt storytelling, making his return to the stage particularly poignant.

The production of 860 will be produced by a team that includes Janice Crystal, James L. Nederlander, Larry Magid, and Face Productions. Additional creative team members will be announced in the coming weeks, as the excitement builds for this limited engagement.

As Crystal prepares to share his family's story, audiences can expect a blend of humor and heartfelt reflection. The show a tribute to the memories of a cherished home and a celebration of resilience and the power of family bonds in overcoming adversity.

With the official announcement of 860, fans of Billy Crystal and Broadway enthusiasts alike are eager to see how he transforms his personal tragedy into a theatrical experience. As the opening date approaches, details about ticket sales and specific performance dates will be made available, ensuring that audiences will have the opportunity to experience this unique and intimate portrayal of Crystal's life.

In a world where personal narratives resonate deeply, Crystal's 860 stands as a reminder of the importance of connection, laughter, and strength in the face of loss. As he steps back into the spotlight this October, audiences can look forward to a moving exploration of love, memory, and the enduring spirit of family.
